China Visa Requirements and process

To apply for a China visa, Jamaican nationals must provide the following:

Valid Passport
• Must have at least 6 months’ validity
• At least 2 blank pages for the visa

Completed Visa Application Form
• Fully and accurately filled out
• Must be signed

Recent Passport-Sized Photos
• Two (2) passport-size photos
• Taken within the last 6 months

Proof of Accommodation
• Hotel booking or invitation letter from a host in China

Travel Itinerary
• Round-trip flight reservation
• Or any document showing your travel plans

Proof of Financial Means
• Bank statement or other proof of sufficient funds to cover your stay

Business Visa (M):
• Invitation letter from the Chinese company
• Evidence of planned business activities

Student Visa (X):
• Admission letter from the school in China
• JW201 or JW202 form

Employment Visa (Z):
• Official job offer or employment contract
• Proof of work experience or qualifications

The application process involves the following steps:

Determine the Type of Visa
Choose the correct visa category based on the purpose of your visit (e.g. tourism, business, study, work).
Submit Your Application
Submit your completed application form and supporting documents to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in Jamaica or through a designated visa application center (if applicable).
Attend an Interview (if required)
Some visa categories may require you to attend an in-person interview.
Pay the Visa Fee
Visa fees vary depending on:
• Visa type
• Number of entries
• Processing speed

Wait for Processing
Visa processing usually takes:
4–7 business days (Standard)
5–10 business days (Extended or during busy periods)
